Lighting Design
Tigz Productions lighting and design team try to construct a visual journey for the audience to create mood
and atmosphere within the production using strong links with Robe automated fixtures.
This has allowed us to push the envelope in design and technology with stuning effects. Most of the lighting design feature the latest products such as Robe 700's 575's and new LED fixtures from 'Anolis' giving young technicians the chance to work with high class products at an early stage of their careers. All this is possible due to strong links with Robe Uk and Zero 88. This enables a West End look within a limited spend
The current production being designed by 'Tigz' is Disney's Aladdin at Rendcomb College produced by Diana Dodds which features a large moving light rig with Robe 700s which have come direct from Eurovision song contest in Finland. These were needed to create the Disney magic of shooting stars and to create the effect of the flying carpet The brief was to design the show in the style of the film with strong vivid colours. This was only acievable by using the robe fixtures where power and lighting positions were limited.
The concept of the Odyssey design, produced by Adam Fotheringham for the Sundial Youth Theatre in July 2006 was to change locations a number of times during the performance just using lighting. This was achieved by varying sizes of free standing triangles and flown S shapes. These set pieces were constructed frames with a cream gauze material stretched over to allow rear projection. The neutral colour allowed lighting to be projected onto the shapes to suggest different locations and times of the day. This key design element allowed us to snap from an underwater scene into a bright magical island instantly through the means of lighting.
